Did you remember seeing the last What is it Wednesday item? We left you to ponder for a couple of weeks as to what this item may be.  Did you figure it out?

The featured item was …

An Ulu!

ulu-fullThis kitchen tool did not come from Diane’s basement of treasures. This actually came from a friend who travelled to Alaska and brought it back to add to her treasure trove of gadgets. I’m beginning to see a pattern here with some of her kitchen tools. Whether they come from the basement of abundant treasures, from her parents/ grandparents, or from a friend – they all have their own unique story.

Diane uses this tool to chop herbs, and garlic, though traditionally it is used by the Inuit, to skin and clean animals.
